Reelenz An innovative plant support spool with a sturdy 80 feet of nylon utilizing vine clips, if desired. Reelenz allows growers of heavy yielding vine crops, such as tomatoes and cucumbers, to securely support the plant. This spool contains unique replaceable twine spool and allow the gardener to layer crops by simply pushing up on the spool which unlocks the self-lock and releases ten inches of twine. Ideal for growing ten to thirty foot long crops in commercial applications. Reelenz Hangers and Easy-reels have been designed to make the task of supporting and layering your tomato plants quicker, easier and more efficient. The Reelenz system is a two piece unit: The hanger and a disposable reel wound with twine The hanger is made of nylon for strength and durability. The clip ensures the hanger will not spin off the crop wire but it is flexible enough to be put on and taken off the wire many times. The clip at the bottom of the hanger ensures the reels stays on the hanger but this too can be put on and taken off quickly and easily. The reel is made from polyproplylene and can hold up to 25 metres (over 80 feet) of twine. Both the reel and twine are UV stabilised. The reel is easy to fit on or take off the hanger. The twine is wound on to the reel in such a way that the outside twine protects the inside twine from the elements. Pre-wound replacement reels are available - you may need them in two or three years when the first reel runs out. A new reel can be fitted to the hanger midway through a crop. The easiest way to use Reelenz There are many ways growers use Reelenz depending on their greenhouse but this is the most common and the way we recommend: At the beginning of the first crop we recommend unwinding the twine before fitting the hanger to the crop wire. This way the plants and hangers are evenly spaced. The reel will freewheel when held upside down or the twine can be pulled off sideways. Either way the twine unwinds easily Place the hanger on the crop wire with the reel facing you. When layering ( trellissing or leaning and lowering ) Grasp Reelenz with the thumb on the underside of the reel and the middle finger on the shoulder of the hanger. Simply push up with the thumb momentarily while pushing down with the middle finger. This will release the lock and the reel will rotate. Control the speed of the reel with the index finger. The reel will self-lock after one revolution. If more than one revolution of twine is needed to be released simply continue upward pressure with the thumb. Either hand can be used. If the plants are very heavy the other hand can be used to guide the plant. At the end of the crop Simply cut the twine and Reelenz easy-reels are ready for the next crop. This saves much time and labour at the end of each crop and the beginning of the new crop. Or if the twine has run out simply fit a replacement reel. The reels can last through several crops before a replacement reel |

Over a low heat, slowly stir in sugar until it becomes thick and granules completely dissolve. (Stir in more water if the mixture becomes too thick.) Remove from heat and stir in orange juice. Transfer to a container and allow to cool before covering tightly. To infuse marshmallow root: In a saucepan, take about a cup of marshmallow root pieces (chopped as finely as possible) and cover them with water (try to get as close to the final amount as possible...for this recipe I started with 24 oz so I knew I'd have enough. Anything left over makes a wonderful lotion) You'll end up with a thick, almost jelly-like substance that is wonderfully moisturizing for your skin. Use this for your water in the soap recipe (I left a few small pieces in the soap; it didn't leave the soap scratchy at all). Marshmallow Root is also serious old-time medicine. Marshmallow root and extract were formerly official in the United States Pharmacopeia and the National Formulary. In the U.S. today, marshmallow is used as a component of dietary supplement antitussive and demulcent preparations. The root is also used as a component of a few prepared cough tea and cough syrup medicines. In Germany, marshmallow root and leaf are both licensed as standard medicinal teas. The 1997 Commission E on Phytotherapy and Herbal Substances of the German Federal Institute for Drugs recommends Marshmallow root for '(a) Irritation of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa and associated dry cough. This is Starwest's nitrogen-flushed double wall silverfoil pack. Although in Europe and the U.S. cinnamon is most often associated with sweet dishes, it has broad culinary uses. For example, in India, cinnamon is never used with desserts, but is the main ingredient in curries. In North Africa, not only is cinnamon an ingredient in Raz-el-Hanout, the flavoring of couscous and tagines, but appears also in Berber spices. In Greece, it appears in lamb dishes. And it is an essential spice in Chinese cuisine. Ground, itis one of the constituents of five-spice powder; whole, it is frequently added to flavor braised dishes. In the Caribbean, it is in Jerk seasoning. In Mexico, it appears with chocolate and chili powder in Mole sauces. In the U.S., it is used in barbecue rubs and sauces. Cinnamon is the bark of three bushy evergreen trees of the laurel (Lauraceae) family. The most fragrant and delicate cinnamon is obtained from the Cinnamomum zeylanicum tree native to Sri Lanka (which used to be called 'Ceylon'), the western coast of India (known as the Malabar coast), and Burma. Zeylanicum cinnamon is sometimes called 'true cinnamon' and 'old fashioned cinnamon.' But the 'true' part was just advertising copy for the Dutch East India Company's 17th century monopoly. Cinnamon is also derived from the Cinnamomum loureirii tree native to Indonesia and the Cinnamomum cassia tree native to China, Vietnam, and Sumatra. The cinnamon from the loureirii and cassia trees is darker and more pungent and aromatic than cinnamon from the zeylanicum tree. Cassia cinnamon is what most Americans are used to and is the preferred cinnamon in Southern Europe. So don't let the term 'true cinnamon' confuse you; cassia cinnamon is just as true as zeylancium. Neither Grieve, King nor Felter distinguish the cinnamon varieties medicinally – Grieve simply asserting that they all act alike, and King's covers all varieties in one listing, as 'The barks of numerous species of Cinnamomum.' Medicinally, they all act the same, although there are subtle taste differences. Cassia cinnamon has a more intense and less fragrant aroma than zeylanicum (Ceylon) cinnamon. It is sweet, warm, pungent, and slightly astringent. Zeylanicum (Ceylon) cinnamon is pale in color, and more delicate, more fragrant, not as pungent, and not as sweet. It has a slight citrus flavor. Zeylanicum (Ceylon) cinnamon is more expensive than cassia, and better to use in sweet dishes and cakes. Cassia nips the tongue and is more suited to spiced meats, stews, rice dishes, curries, pancake and waffle batters, cinnamon rolls, and flavored drinks. Cassia cinnamon sticks are reddish brown, thick, and coarse in texture. They are the sticks Americans are accustomed to and use in mulled cider and wine. Zeylanicum cinnamon sticks are pale in color, thin, and look like a roll of dried paper; they are delicate and crumble easily.
