This is Frontier's nitrogen-flushed double wall silverfoil pack. Some Frontier packs are double wall wax-lined paper. Myrrh, as the biblical story of the three wise men shows, was one of the most desired and sought after items in the world. It was used as incense in religious rituals throughout the ancient world. It promotes spiritual awareness and is uplifting. The anti-infectious nature of this legendary incense plays an active role in many of today's herbal formulations. The bacteriostatic and antiseptic properties of the herb have been experimentally verified in North America, Europe and China. The oleo-gum-resin is antiseptic to mucous membranes, and, curiously, both inhibits over secretion as well as disinhibits under secretion of these tissues. Thus, it normalizes mucous membrane activity. Myrrh is known to contain many volatile oils which make the herb ideally suited for promoting free breathing during congestive colds, and for clearing out mucous-clogged passages in the body. The 1997 Commission E on Phytotherapy and Herbal Substances of the German Federal Institute for Drugs recommends Myrrh oleo-gum resin for 'Topical treatment of mild inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.' 'Dosage: Myrrh tincture: Dab 2 - 3 times daily with undiluted tincture; As a rinse or gargle: 5 - 10 drops in a glass of water. In dental powders: 10 percent of powdered resin. Mode of Administration: Powdered resin, myrrh tincture and other galenical preparations for topical use. Action: Astringent.' Grieve's classic 'A Modern Herbal': 'A direct emmenagogue, a tonic in dyspepsia, an expectorant in the absence of feverish symptoms, a stimulant to the mucous tissues, a stomachic carminative, exciting appetite and the flow of gastric juice, and an astringent wash.' 'It is used in chronic catarrh, phthisis pulmonalis, chlorosis, and in amenorrhoea is often combined with aloes and iron. As a wash it is good for spongy gums, ulcerated throat and aphthous stomatitis, and the tincture is also applied to foul and indolent ulcers. It has been found helpful in bronchorrhoea and leucorrhoea.' 'It has also been used as a vermifuge. Myrrh is a common ingredient of toothpowders, and is used with borax in tincture, with other ingredients, as a mouth-wash. Meetiga, thetrade-name of Arabian Myrrh, is more brittle and gummy than that of Somaliland and has not its white markings. The liquid Myrrh, or Stacte, spoken of by Pliny, and an ingredient of Jewish holy incense, was formerly obtainable and greatly valued, but cannot now be identified. Dosages: 10 to 30 grains. Of fluid extract, 5 to 30 minims.' King's 1898 Dispensatory: 'Myrrh is stimulant, especially to mucous tissues. Hydroton clay pebbles (or ''rocks'') are made from pH neutral clay. Their air to moisture ratio makes them ideal for hydroponics. They can be used to fill plastic net cups in aeroponic and NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) systems, as a medium for drip irrigation systems, or as a medium for container gardening. Hydroton isan expanded clay medium manufactured in Germany and is well suited for growing larger plants like tomatoes and peppers. It holds water extremely well and offers good capillary action. It is reusable, clean, and odorless. The 10 liter bag will fill approximately 24x 3'', 12x 5.25'', 10 - 5.5'', or 4 - 8'' net pots. The 50 liter bag will fill about 4x 5gal containers. Perfect for passive, wick, and subirrigation use, individual hydroculture pots or hydroponic systems. Reuse over and over by rinsing out roots then sterilizing in a very mild bleach solution (about 1/2 cup per gallon of water). Rinse well before using. |

Grodan Rockwool Cubes are great for rooting cuttings or germinating seeds. We recommend soaking them in pH 5.5 water overnight, and add seeds or cuttings the next day. Keep them under a dome to retain moisture and mist if necessary. From here, you can transplant into any growing medium, soil or hydro. If you wantto transplant into larger rockwool blocks later on, don't use these cubes (they're too small) - use the 1.5x1.5x1.5'' cubes. |

The Wood Based Mushroom Bag is a completely self contained environment forthe incubation and fruiting of wood loving mushrooms. The wood based formula of this bag is comprised mostly of a select mix of hardwoods especially formulated for wood loving mushrooms, supplemented with wheat bran, and small amounts of vermiculite for water retention. This formulation design proves to be more usable by live cultures. The bag is shipped with all air removed for easy packing. Each bag contains approximately 1 pound of wet sterilized substrate. The spore syringe or culture is NOT included with the bag and must be purchased separately. To use, simply unfold the Bag, allowing the extra material to stand straight up. Locate the small foam disk sealed and attached in a plastic housing near the base of the Bag. This disc is the self-healing injector site. Note: The disc will be covered by a small plastic shield. Do not attempt to remove the plastic covering the disc, you will inject through it. Sterilize a small section of the outside of the Bag (on the plastic shield) directly over the foam disc with an alcohol soaked wipe. With the same alcohol soaked wipe, sterilize the needle on your culture syringe. Inoculate the substrate (material inside the bag) with culture syringe solution by inserting the needle through the plastic shield and foam disc at the previously sterilized spot. Squirt 2cc of culture solution directly into the substrate material. DO NOT insert the needle through the white filter patch found near the top of the Bag. Place the Bag(s) in a dark location and incubate at species specific parameters. It is recommend to store the Bag fully extended as developing Mycelia will give off gases that will slowly expand the interior of the Bag. This ballooning effect is crucial for proper air exchange and culture development. Note: During drier summer months it is advisable to store the Bag in a humid location. Excessively dry environments may draw moisture from the Bag. Because colonization will begin in the interior of the substrate material it may take between 14-20 days for you to notice the spreading of colonizing mycelium towards the outside of the Bag. Speed of colonization is directly affected by incubation temperatures, please check to make sure you are incubating the bag at the correct temperature for the species you are attempting to cultivate. Typical colonization time is between 21-30 days for most species and strains when incubated properly. When colonization is 90% or 100% complete, move Bag(s) to a location with indirect light (indoor light or filtered sunlight is best). Allow the Bags to receive 12 hours of indirect light per day (direct fluorescent lighting works as well). Some specimens, such as the Shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes) and the Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum), perform better if the colonized Bag is punctured several times on the side at substrate level.
