Everything you need to start exploring the wonders of edible mushroom sclerotia cultivation! These kits include a culture syringe of Pleurotus tuberregium, the sclerotia forming King Tuber Oyster and include a number of our pre-sterilized substrate bags formulated especially for sclerotia producing mushroom species. The King Tuber Oyster is noted for its sclerotia forming abilities. The sclerotia, or tuber-like growths, can be harvested and planted separately to produce small spike-like protrusions, that will eventually mature into normal fruit bodies. Our bag formulation allows these spikes to be produced directly from the bag, no need to harvest and replant them in other material! Small kit includes one Bag and 3cc culture syringe. Medium kit includes four Bags and a 10cc culture syringe. Large kit includes ten Bags and a 10cc culture syringe. Each Sclerotia Oyster Mushroom Kit includes a number of pre-sterilized substrate Bags specially designed for sclerotia producing mushrooms. Also included is enough culture material to get each bag started. A filter patch is attached to the Bag to allow for gas exchange during colonization and fruiting. The Bags measure 4'' wide, 3'' deep, and 18'' tall and contains approximately one pound of sterilize substrate. In an effort to reduce the amount of paper waste created at our company, we will not include printed instructions for this kit. Directions for use are conveniently displayed for your reference below. To use, unfold the Bag, allowing the extra material to stand straight up. Locate the small foam disk sealed and attached in a plastic housing near the base of the Bag. This disc is the self-healing injector site. Note: The disc will be covered by a small plastic shield. Do not attempt to remove the plastic covering the disc, you will inject through it. Sterilize a small section of the outside of the Bag (on the plastic shield) directly over the foam disc with an alcohol soaked wipe. With the same alcohol soaked wipe, sterilize the needle on your culture syringe. Inoculate the substrate with culture syringe(included) solution by inserting the needle through the plastic shield and foam disc at the previously sterilized spot. Squirt 2-3cc of culture solution directly into the substrate material . DO NOT insert the needle through the white filter patch found near the top of the Bag. Place the kit's Bag(s) in a dark location and incubate at species specific parameters. It is recommend to store the Bag fully extended as developing Mycelia will give off gases that will slowly expand the interior of the Bag. Note: During drier summer months it is advisable to store the Bag ina humid location. Excessively dry environments may draw moisture from the Bags. Because colonization will begin in the interior of the substrate material it may take between 14-20 days for you to notice the spreading of colonizing mycelium towards the outside of the Bag. Reelenz An innovative plant support spool with a sturdy 80 feet of nylon utilizing vine clips, if desired. Reelenz allows growers of heavy yielding vine crops, such as tomatoes and cucumbers, to securely support the plant. This spool contains unique replaceable twine spool and allow the gardener to layer crops by simply pushing up on the spool which unlocks the self-lock and releases ten inches of twine. Ideal for growing ten to thirty foot long crops in commercial applications. Reelenz Hangers and Easy-reels have been designed to make the task of supporting and layering your tomato plants quicker, easier and more efficient. The Reelenz system is a two piece unit: The hanger and a disposable reel wound with twine The hanger is made of nylon for strength and durability. The clip ensures the hanger will not spin off the crop wire but it is flexible enough to be put on and taken off the wire many times. The clip at the bottom of the hanger ensures the reels stays on the hanger but this too can be put on and taken off quickly and easily. The reel is made from polyproplylene and can hold up to 25 metres (over 80 feet) of twine. Both the reeland twine are UV stabilised. The reel is easy to fit on or take off the hanger. The twine is wound on to the reel in such a way that the outside twine protects the inside twine from the elements. Pre-wound replacement reels are available - you may need them in two or three years when the first reel runs out. A new reel can be fitted to the hanger midway through a crop. The easiest way to use Reelenz There are many ways growers use Reelenz depending on their greenhouse but this is the most common and the way we recommend: At the beginning of the first crop we recommend unwinding the twine before fitting the hanger to the crop wire. This way the plants and hangers are evenly spaced. The reel will freewheel when held upside down or the twine can be pulled off sideways. Either way the twine unwinds easily Place the hanger on the crop wire with the reel facing you. When layering ( trellissing or leaning and lowering ) Grasp Reelenz with the thumb on the underside of the reel and the middle finger on the shoulder of the hanger. Simply push up with the thumb momentarily while pushing down with the middle finger. This will release the lock and the reel will rotate. Control the speed of the reel with the index finger. The reel will self-lock after one revolution. If more than one revolution of twine is needed to be released simply continue upward pressure with the thumb. Either hand can be used. If the plants are very heavy the other hand can be used to guide the plant. At the end of the crop Simply cut the twine and Reelenz easy-reels are ready for the next crop. This saves much time and labour at the end of each crop and the beginning of the new crop. Or if the twine has run out simply fit a replacement reel. The reels can last through several crops before a replacement reel |
