Clary sage oil has a spicy, hay-like, bittersweet aroma with intriguing musk and wine-like nuances. It combines well with coriander, cardamom, citrus oils, sandalwood, cedarwood, geranium and lavandin. The aroma of clary sage is long-lasting and the oil is valued as a fixative for other scents. Aromatherapy benefits: centering, euphoric, visualizing. Essential, absolute and resin oils are volatile, fragrant materials extracted from the root, bark, wood, seed, fruit, leaf or flower of a single plant. The plants used to produce these oils are grown on certified organic fields and are third-party certified by Quality Assurance International; no synthetic chemicals are used in growing or processing them. Steam distillation and cold pressing are used to extract the essential oil fromthe plant. Essential oils and absolutes are very potent and should always be used sparingly and in conjunction with a reliable reference. Stevia is also known as Sweetleaf or Candyleaf. Stevia is a safe, all-natural alternative to artificial sweeteners and refined sugar in the diet. It has neither calories nor carbohydrates, is suitable for diabetics, doesn't cause tooth decay, and has been shown to reduce hypertension. Stevia has been used for centuries by the Guarani Indians of Paraguay both as a sweetener and as medicine. Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni was popularized, and named, by Dr. Moises Santiago Bertoni, the director of the College of Agriculture in Asuncion. He first heard of the herb in 1887, and encountered a live plant for the first time in 1903. In 1908 the first stevia crop was harvested, and plantations began to spring up. A 1913 memo from the official public scientific laboratory in Hamburg, Germany warned the established sugar industry, 'specimens received are of the well-known plant which alarmed sugar producers some years ago.' In 1960s Japan, there was a popular movement against addingchemicals such as artificial sweeteners to food. Manufacturers there were on the lookout for a natural alternative to sugar, and Stevia was introduced to the Japanese market in 1970. It is currently used in many products there and makes up 40% of the Japanese sweetener market. The Japanese use it in sugar-free versions of Wrigley's gums and diet Coke. Stevia is about 300 times sweeter than sugar in its natural state, and much more so when processed. Its medicinal uses include regulating blood sugar, preventing hypertension, treatment of skin disorders, and prevention of tooth decay. Other studies show that it is a natural antibacterial and antiviral agent as well. Stevia is actually good for you! Recently there have been studies linking stevia extract with normalization of blood sugar and insulin in diabetics. In China Stevia and stevioside is used in herbal medicines and toothpaste. In China, Korea and Japan Stevia extract Stevioside is used as a table top sweetener because it has 0 calories, 0 carbohydrates, 0 fat and is many times sweeter than sugar. Stevia has no fat, no carbohydrates, making it perfect for diabetics, low-carb diets, and people with candida. It has undergone dozens of tests world-wide and was found to be free of toxins. As a real threat to the vast sugar-aspartame industry, Stevia continues to be highly politicized in the US. While no one in Japan has complained about any Stevia related health problems for the past thirty years, over 75% of food-additive related complaints in the US are about Aspartame, which is supposedly safe. We really like this system! Extremely simply to use, and offers great results. This system uses special patentedvalves that allows for ''on-demand'' feeding without the need for electricity. Just setup the trays, fill the reservoir with water and nutrients, adjust the pH, and walk away for up to 3-weeks! Nutrient solution flows through a tube from the reservoir to the tray. The tray fills to the upper limit and then the valve closes. When the plants drink the solution down to the lower limit (1-3 weeks later, depending on the size of the plants), the valve opens up and again allows the solution to fill the tray back up. You can grow small, medium, or large (tomatoes, peppers, etc.) plants in this system with minimal effort. Comes with everything you need, including the tray (1), pots (2), 9 gallon reservoir, shutoff valves, tubing, tees, filter, nutrients and Ready Gro soilless growing medium. We recommend using a 250W or 400W lighting system with this system. This is Plum Flower brand's nitrogen-flushed vacuum pack. Used as an infusion, decoction, extract and tincture. All parts of the flowers and leaves of the Sacred Lotus, Nelumbo nucifera, are a traditional relaxing and inebriating smoke, resembling a mild cannabis. They are aslo brewed into a delightful tea, and are also steeped in wine. The flowers are edible, the petals often placed in soups and used as a garnish. The seeds are eaten raw, roasted, candied, or popped like popcorn. The thick, starchy rhizomes are boiled, stir-fried and pickled. Lotus blossoms are sacred to Hindus and Buddhists because of their ancient sedative and shamanic function. The plants are commonly grown in Asia for the rhizomes and seeds. Asian water lotus is closely related to water lilies (Nymphaea), and is sometimes placed in the water lily family (Nymphaeaceae). Plum Flower is one of the most distinguished herb houses in the world. Sulfur Free, Chlorine Free, Aluminum Phosphate Free. Sulfites are used to give herbs the appearance of freshness. As with dried fruit. un-sulfured herbs look different than those that are adulterated with preservatives. Herbs that are preservative free are more natural looking and are generally darker. The brightness of the herbs may be appealing, but it indicates the presence of harmful additives. Despite their appearance, unsulfured herbs are more fresh and safer than regular commercially available products. The use of sulfur, chlorine and aluminum phosphate was made unnecessary through the establishment of Plum Flower processing stations in China. Herb harvesters slice and process the herbs fresh, avoiding the need to rehydrate dried herbs later to process. This first step is crucial, as rehydration leads to decomposition and thus the need for preservatives. The herbs are then packed and the packages vacuum-packed, injected with nitrogen, and sealed. The nitrogen process combined with the lack of sulfur treatment inhibits the growth of anaerobic organisms, resulting in safer, higher quality herbs. After opening, store in a cool dry place. The facilities in Lanzhou and Guang Zhou, China, scientifically test each batch of herbs before, during and after the processing to make sure that all the active ingredients are present. Herbs are also tested to ensure that the formulas surpass all FDA guidelines regarding heavy metals. Those herbs exported to the U.S. are voluntarily submitted to the FDA for approval. Finally, batches are regularly sent out for quality control testing in third-party labs to double-ensure that Plum Flower products are 100% free of pharmaceuticals, preservatives and dyes.
