Nutrient film technique (NFT) hydroponic kits from American Hydroponics are complete and user-friendly, quality throughout. They work by trickling a slow moving film (stream) of oxygen rich nutrient down gently sloped, flat bottomed gullies (channels). Plants love it and thrive in this system. NFT Gully is the preferred growing method of commercial lettuce growers in Australia and New Zealand. These kits are built with the same quality components as those commercial installations. (Incidentally, this is the same exact material weuse to grow lettuce at our own commercial farm and it works excellent). The system includes A.H.'s Jumbo gullies for growing larger plants such as tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, which measure 3''x6'', and feature a specially routed opening that perfectly fits a 3'' rockwool block. The gullies have been specially designed with flat bottoms and special ridges for even flow and are made from FDA-approved, 100% recycled HDPE plastic.
