This is Plum Flower brand's nitrogen-flushed vacuum pack. Plum Flower is one of the most distinguished herb houses in the world. Sulfur Free, Chlorine Free, Aluminum Phosphate Free. Sulfites are used to give herbs the appearance of freshness. As with dried fruit. un-sulfured herbs look different than those that are adulterated with preservatives. Herbs that are preservative free are more natural looking and are generally darker. The brightness of the herbs may be appealing, but it indicates the presence of harmful additives. Despite their appearance, unsulfured herbs are more fresh and safer than regular commercially available products. The use of sulfur, chlorine and aluminum phosphate was made unnecessary through the establishment of Plum Flower processing stations in China. Herb harvesters slice and process the herbs fresh, avoiding the need to rehydrate dried herbs later to process. This first step is crucial, as rehydration leads to decomposition and thus the need for preservatives. The herbs are then packed and the packages vacuum-packed, injected with nitrogen, and sealed. The nitrogen process combined with the lack of sulfur treatment inhibits the growth of anaerobic organisms, resulting in safer, higher quality herbs. After opening, store in a cool dry place. The facilities in Lanzhou and Guang Zhou, China, scientifically test each batch of herbs before, during and after the processing to make sure that all the active ingredients are present. Herbs are also tested to ensure that the formulas surpass all FDA guidelines regarding heavy metals. Those herbs exported to the U.S. are voluntarily submitted to the FDA for approval. Finally, batches are regularlysent out for quality control testing in third-party labs to double-ensure that Plum Flower products are 100% free of pharmaceuticals, preservatives and dyes. The Lanzhou and Guang Zhou factories are so clean, they are certified by the Australian Government’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (GMP). These standards surpass any of the FDA, and are considered the highest for any government agency in the world. Varuna Fulfillment Center items are special ordered. Used in countless perfumes and fragrances, patchouli is noted for its long-lasting fragrance and fixative ability. It borders on the exotic and even the name patchouli evokes images of heady aromas, dark, rich colors, candlelight, incense and intrigue. The aroma is very intense; it can be described as earthy, rich, sweet, balsamic, woody and spicy. A valuablemodifier in blends containing floral or herbaceous oils. Patchouli oil is one of the few essential oils that improve with age. Aromatherapy benefits: romantic, soothing, sensual. Essential, absolute and resin oils are volatile, fragrant materials extracted from the root, bark, wood, seed, fruit, leaf or flower of a single plant. The plants used to produce these oils are grown on certified organic fields and are third-party certified by Quality Assurance International; no synthetic chemicals are used in growing or processing them. Steam distillation and cold pressing are used to extract the essential oil from the plant. Essential oils and absolutes are very potent and should always be used sparingly and in conjunction with a reliable reference. AERODUCT™ MULTI-FEED METHOD GROW CHANNELS 7'' Wide x 5'' Deep AEROPONICS / NFT / DEEP FLO HYDRO-AEROPONICS / TOP FEED Lids are available with no holes for custom drilling, or with 4'' holes on 8'' centers, or 5'' holes on 12'' centers. Nutrient Feed Technique, Aeroponics, Deepflo, Top Feed Drip The AERODUCT™ is a custom extruded multi-feed method grow channel. What separates the AERODUCT™ from other grow channels on the market is our proprietary reversible tray lid with end caps and joiners. The AERODUCT™ is available with or without the lid. For NFT applications, the channel lid will sit lower in the tray so the net pot will sit flush on the bottom of the AERODUCT™ channel. A shallow stream of nutrient solution runs along the bottom of the tray nourishing and hydrating the root systems. The lower roots are feeding while the upper roots take in oxygen. The root system eventually will form one continuous large mat along the bottom of the channel. End caps, end caps with spouts, and joiners are available to make the AERODUCT™ channel the most flexible multi-task grow channel available. Aeroponics The AERODUCT™ can also be used in aeroponic applications. Just reverse the lid opposite from the NFT applications allowing the net pots to sit higher in the channel. Internal microjet sprayers can be equipped for a super oxygenated environment to the root zone. The roots will hang in the air and form a large root mat along the bottom of the channel. The lid snaps into the inside of the tray for a no leak fit. Deep Flo Hydro-Aeroponics The deep flo hydro-aeroponics feed method can also be utilized with the flexible AERODUCT™ grow channel. Instead of using end caps with drain spouts, they are equipped with an end cap at each end of the channel and utilize our exclusive adjustable height drain fitting. Choose the depth of the nutrient solution and have the flexibility to adjust it to any desired level. With deep flo hydro-aeroponics, the nutrient solution is 2–3 inches in depth and the solution is highly aerated with dissolved oxygen. Top Feed Drip This is for growers who choose to grow with a soilless grow substrate but still want to retain the modular features an extruded channel has to offer over conventional grow trays. The 1997 Commission E on Phytotherapy and Herbal Substances of the German Federal Institute for Drugs recommends Comfrey herb for 'External: Bruises, sprains. Note: Application should only occur on intact skin. During pregnancy use only after consultation with a physician.' 'Dosage: Ointments and other preparations for external application with 5 - 20 percent dried drug; equivalent preparations. The daily applied dosage should not exceed 100 µg (mcg) of pyrrolizidine alkaloids with 1,2-unsaturated necine structure, including their N-oxides. Mode of Administration: Comminuted herb and other galenical preparations for external use. Duration of Administration: Not more than 4 - 6 weeks per year. Action: Antiinflammatory.' Comfrey has an ancient reputation as a wound-healer. Comfrey abounds in the healing agents mucilage and allantoin. A water extract of comfrey has been shown to stimulate production of protective substances known as prostaglandins in the stomachs of experimental animals, thus confirming comfrey’s ancient reputation. These same constituents make it useful for bronchitis and diarrhea. Note that, unlike the old herbalists, the Commission E recommends external Comfrey use only. The FDA warns of the potential for liver damage: 'The pyrrolizidine alkaloids that are present in comfrey, in addition to being potent hepatotoxins, have also been shown to be toxic to other tissues as well. There is also evidence that implicates these substances as carcinogens. Taken together, the clear evidence of an association between oral exposure to pyrrolizidine alkaloids and serious adverse health effects and the lack of any valid scientific data that would enable the agency to determine whether there isan exposure, if any, that would present no harm to consumers, indicates that this substance should not be used as an ingredient in dietary supplements.' Grieve's classic 'A Modern Herbal': 'As the plant abounds in mucilage, it is frequently given whenever a mucilaginous medicine is required and has been used like Marshmallow for intestinal troubles. It is very similar in its emollient action to Marshmallow, but in many cases is even preferred to it and is an ingredient in a large number of herbal preparations. It forms a gentle remedy in cases of diarrhoea and dysentery.' 'A decoction is made by boiling ½ to 1 oz. of crushed root in 1 quart of water or milk, which is taken in wineglassful doses, frequently. For its demulcent action it has long been employed domestically in lung troubles and also for quinsy and whooping-cough.
