• Used to Support Male Potency* • Whole Herh Powder Yohimbe has been used traditionally for many years to help support male potency.* Yohimbe has aphrodisiac, stimulant, and tonic properties. It dilates blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. This enlarges blood vessels, particularly in the sexual organs. It also elevates mood and reduces depression and anxiety. Yohimbe is a tallevergreen forest tree, reaching a height of 90 feet and width of 40 feet, native to Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, and the Congo. West Africans have used yohimbe for centuries by making a bitter tea from bark shavings. The resultant stamina was used for both love and war. Male members of some tribes would take yohimbe as part of marriage and mating rituals and during special week-long fertility celebrations when sexual relations were expected. Yohimbe gained a reputation for increasing libido as well as improving male sexual performance by enhancing the size and staying power of erections. Modern double-blind trials have confirmed yohimbe's ability to help with erectile dysfunction. Yohimbine, demonstrably, does some interesting things. It blocks alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, thus increasing the level of epinephrine and norepinephrine in the blood. Yohimbine also dilates blood vessels and inhibits monoamine oxidase (MAO). MAO metabolizes serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. By inhibiting this, MAOIs increase levels of those neurotransmitters. Phenelzine (Nardil) and tranycypromine (Parnate) are two popularly prescribed antidepressant MAOIs. Yohimbe is, apparently, another. |

Glucosamine is not only safe but an active supporter of proteoglycan synthesis (i.e., a producer of cartilage macromolecules consisting of a protein bound to a glucosaminoglycan). There is increasing evidence that Glucosamine does in fact relieve joint pain and inflammation for many arthritis sufferers, and that it may slow progression of the disease. Because of its ability to reduce and--in some cases--completely eliminate the pain of osteoarthritis, some physicians and researchers feel Glucosamine might offer similar benefits for people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, spinal disc degeneration, tendinitis, bursitis, and physical injuries to the joints. There is even speculation that it could play a preemptive role, eliminating the development of osteoarthritis. Glucosamine stimulates the production of glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans, two essential building blocks of cartilage. This appears to 'jump start' the body’s own natural production of Glucosamine. Combining Glucosamine with chondroitin sulfate has been demonstrated to increase its effectiveness. Glucosamine has been used to treat osteoarthritis in Europe since the 1980s. Several recent scientific studies have supported its effectiveness, and its popularity in the U.S. is spreading quickly. In November 1999, a Belgian group of researchers presented a study to the American College of Rheumatology showing that glucosamine may slow the progression of osteoarthritis of the knee. At a recent symposium of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the official 'green light' was given to glucosamine as a valid therapeutic alternative when NSAIDs such as aspirin and ibuprofen are ineffective or contraindicated. Other clinicians at the symposium suggested that glucosamine could be recommended as first-line therapy in selected patients with osteoarthritis. Glucosamine, in either the sulfate, HCL, or acetylated forms, is sosafe that it is a dietary supplement not even subject to FDA approval. |

It is used in chronic catarrh, phthisis pulmonalis, chlorosis, and in amenorrhoea is often combined with aloes and iron. As a wash it is good for spongy gums, ulcerated throat and aphthous stomatitis, and the tincture is also applied to foul and indolent ulcers. It has been found helpful in bronchorrhoea and leucorrhoea. It has also been used as a vermifuge. Myrrh is a common ingredient of toothpowders, and is used with borax in tincture, with other ingredients, as a mouth-wash. Meetiga, the trade-name of Arabian Myrrh, is more brittle and gummy than that of Somaliland and has not its white markings. The liquid Myrrh, or Stacte, spoken of by Pliny, and an ingredient of Jewish holy incense, was formerly obtainable and greatly valued, but cannot now be identified. Dosages---10 to 30 grains.
