Sandalwood oil is one of the most ancient aromatic oils with a long history of use in the East. Sandalwood has been highly sought after and valued for its uplifting, spiritual and sensual qualities. This formula is highly recommended for producing a calm, sensuous mood. It is one of the most spiritual of all the oils, being that it seems to naturally lead one into a more open, focused and joyful state of mind. Sandalwood oil is becoming increasingly rare due to its restricted range, the difficulty of starting new plants and because trees need at least 30 years of growth before their essential oil fully develops. Sandalwood Dreams therefore is best used on special occasions, when it can be fully appreciated. Please use it and all sandalwood products sparingly. Enjoyed by both men and women. Essence oils are blends of pure essential oils with one of our exclusive crystallized essences. They are natural perfume oils that were created with specific attributes in mind and are therefore more than simple perfumes or fragrance oils. Essence oils work synergistically to promote subtle emotional qualities, such as Mystic Wind which inspires a feeling of bodily calm along with a senseof mental clarity. Essence oils are produced at our facility in the coastal mountains of California, by hand and in small batches. We begin by extracting the oil from one of the crystallized essences, filtering out the solid particles, and finally adding pure essential oils and mixed tocopherols (vitamin E) to the formula. Our process takes weeks to manufacture every batch and we use only certified organic extraction and carrier oils: high oleic acid sunflower oil and jojoba oil. In addition to being organically grown, both of these carrier oils are expeller pressed and both are very resistant to oxidation, which means they will remain fresh for a very long time. By integrating our traditionally processed essences with natural essential oils recognized for their beneficial and sensual qualities and by using certified organic carrier oils, Eden Botanicals is able to produce natural body fragrances that we believe are unparalleled in today’s marketplace. Unlike other companies that make perfume oils or fragrance oils, we provide our customers with a complete ingredient list for all of our essence oils. Essence oil blends may be used as natural perfumes or as relaxing bath oils. To use as a natural perfume oil, apply a drop or two to your pulse or pressure points. The natural fragrance will release slowly over a several hour period. For use as a bath oil, add five to ten drops to the bath water and let your entire body and spirit enjoy the benefits. Essence oils may also be added to any natural carrier (vegetable) oil to make wonderful massage oils or natural body oils. |

This is Frontier's nitrogen-flushed double wall silverfoil pack. Some Frontier packs are double wall wax-lined paper. The berries can be eaten whole, crushed, cooked with sweetner, or brewed into a tea, boiled to decoction strength, or steepd in wine. Juniper is the flavoring agent in gin. Juniper has traditionally been used in the making of everything from soap to perfume. Juniper ointment is a soothing antiseptic treatment for eczema and psoriasis. Juniper is an effective urinary antiseptic, and is carminative. The 1997 Commission E on Phytotherapy and Herbal Substances of the German Federal Institute for Drugs recommends Juniper berry for 'Dyspepsia.' 'Contraindications: Pregnancy andinflammation of the kidneys. Side Effects: Prolonged usage or overdosing may cause kidney damage.' 'Daily dose: 2 to a maximum of 10 g of the dried juniper fruit, corresponding to 20 - 100 mg of the essential oil. Mode of Administration: Whole, crushed, or powdered drug for infusions and decoctions, alcohol extracts, and in wine. Essential oil. Liquid and solid medicinal forms only for oral application.' Combinations with other plant drugs in teas and similar preparations for treating bladder and kidney diseases may be helpful.' 'Action: Animal experiments have shown an increase in urine excretion as well as a direct effect on smooth muscle contraction.' Juniper is often combined with other diuretic and antimicrobial herbs for bladder and kidney conditions. The volatile oils cause an increase in urine volume, which seems to lower uric acid levels. Although juniper lignans inhibit the herpes simplex virus in laboratory studies, treatment for human herpes infections by juniper has yet to be proven. The traditional use of juniper in topical ointments, however, does seem to have some lab confirmation. Juniper contains bitter substances, at least partly accounting for its traditional use in digestive upset and related problems. The tea is made thick, a teaspoon of juniper berries being allowed to steep for 20 minutes in just one cup of boiling water. Grieve's classic 'A Modern Herbal': 'Oil of Juniper is given as a diuretic, stomachic, and carminative in indigestion, flatulence, and diseases of the kidney and bladder. Spirit of Juniper has properties resembling Oil of Turpentine: it is employed as a stimulating diuretic in cardiac and hepatic dropsy. The fruit is readily eaten by most animals, especially sheep, and is said to prevent and cure dropsy in the latter.' 'The chief use of Juniper is as an adjuvant to diuretics in dropsy depending on heart, liver or kidney disease. It imparts a violet odour to the urine, and large doses may cause irritation to the passages. An infusion of 1 oz. to 1 pint of boiling water may be taken in the course of twenty-four hours. In France the berries have been used in chest complaints and in leucorrhoea, blenorrhoea, scrofula, etc. They are not given in substance. The oil is a local stimulant.' King's 1898 Dis |
