This is a potent 5 to 1 powdered extract, meaning that one gram of extract is equal in potency to 5 grams of herb. This extract is packed in Plum Flower Brand's nitrogen-flushed, safety-sealed dispenser bottle, a sample of which is pictured above. Plum Flower is one of the most distinguished herb houses in the world. This is a pure herbal product with no additives. Extracted from sulfur-free and chlorine-free herbs for superior quality. Manufactured in a low-temperature water extraction process to preserve herb integrity. Extracted essential oils are replenished for proper potency. Strict quality control testing to ensure microbiological and heavy metal safety. Only powdered herb added to maintain purity (no artificial fillers such as lactose, cellulose or starch used). The Mushroom Bag contains just over 4 pounds of pre-cooked and pre-sterilized whole kernal corn. Mushroom Bags are not sold with mushroom spores or cultures. Applicable culture material must be purchased separately. The Primary Spawn Corn Formula bag is specifically designed for primary spawn generation. If you are seeking a Pre-sterilized Bag product for contained incubation and fruiting of mushrooms, please see our other Mushroom Bags. To use, unfold the Bag, allowing the extra material to standstraight up. Locate the small foam disk sealed and attached in a plastic housing near the base of the Bag. This disc is the self-healing injector site. Note: The disc will be covered by a small plastic shield. Do not attempt to remove the plastic covering the disc, you will inject through it. Sterilize a small section of the outside of the Bag (on the plastic shield) directly over the foam disc with an alcohol soaked wipe. With the same alcohol soaked wipe, sterilize the needle on your culture syringe. Inoculate the pre-sterilized corn kernals with culture syringe solution by inserting the needle through the plastic shield and foam disc at the previously sterilized spot. Squirt 1-3cc of culture solution directly into the substrate material. DO NOT insert the needle through the white filter patch found near the top of the Bag. Return the inoculated bags back to the shipping box and place in a dark, warm location (species specific). Allow the bag to remain extended so gaseous exchange through the filter patch is not blocked. Because colonization will begin in the interior of the substrate material it may take between 10-14 days for you to notice the spreading of colonizing mycelium towards the outside of the Bag. Speed of colonization is directly affected by incubation temperatures, please check to make sure you are incubating the bag at the correct temperature for the species you are attempting to cultivate. Typical colonization time is between 21-30 days for most species and strains when incubated properly. Once fully colonized the corn kernal spawn may be used to inoculate other bulk mediums such as pasteurized straw, sawdust, hardwood blocks, etc. |
